Hi,

1st of all i'm new here,.....2nd i don't know if i'm in right place 2 ask tech help here.....ok here it is..... i have a fender jazz bass(sweeeeeeeet.....) dat i juz bought 2nd hand, the problem i'm having at d moment is dat d sound from d "A" string is not/equally loud enough comparing with rest of d strings(E, D, G) everytime i play with my bandmate, i've tried raising d pickup height but dat juz make d "E" string louder, i've even tried raising d string height but still no success...i always get dat dead note/low string action type of sound every time when i playing on dat string....so if theres anybody had dis problem b4 or knows how to do it..pls help/advice me.

btw... a run down on d condition of d bass.. if it had no dings(2 only) n deep scratches, its almost mint condition, d necks n frets seemed it hardly been used...to my guess it been with previous owner for 5 years n sold it juz b'coz d problematic "A" string sound.

Sounds like a new set of strings are needed,my friend.

On my Jazz (an 80's Tokai) ,I prefer the sound of a lighter guage E string to even out the volume/dynamics - a 95 or 100 guage E should sort it. Combined with a new bright A string and a 45 guage G - you should be getting near a balanced sound.
