Odd truss rod

I just learnt about adjusting the truss rod, and what i've done seems to have improved the playability of my guitar, but I have one gripe....turning it clockwise/counter-clockwise has the opposite effect on my guitar than it should!

That is to say, turning it counter-clockwise (loosening it off) gives less relief; gives the neck a back bow. And vice versa for tightening it.

It really needs tightening, but I've got to a point where it isn't even STRAIGHT yet, still has some back-bow, but the truss rod is starting to get tougher to turn.

Probably time to get a tech to have a look at it - it shouldnt be tough to turn and you should never force a truss rod adjustment - it can get expensive very fast!

I assume you have slacked the strings before trying to adjust the truss rod! Time for a tech to have a look at it.

Well don't try to do such delicate stuff yourself! Unless you really really know what you're doing.

Unlike I let my ex-bandmate onetime try to balance a floyd rose. So much for the "acclaimed" self taught tech.

Yesterday was history, tommrow is a mystery, today is a gift. I'm moving on and starting over. There are things that have been done and past. You cannot change what's done but you can change what has not been. I will fall down and I'll pick myself back up again.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
