Multi-effects with acoustic/electric

The 2 songs i have been working on this week (when not trying to finish up "Dark side of the moon" on my electric) are Every Rose has it's Thorn and Silent Lucidity. The problem is both songs require an acoustic and an electric. I've got the acoustic parts down but stopping and switching over to my electric is annoying. I've used the effects on my PA but there is really nothing there that gives my acoustic an "electric" sound. I've also got a multi effects processor and am considering plugging it into that. i don't really expect a strat sound out of my V-Wing, but would like to find something a bit closer. Have any of you guys plugged an acoustic into a processor? I'm gonna mess with it this weekend. Just looking for pointers. thanks

Not tried that one scott - if I need to use both sounds in a piece, I have used an acoustic simulator on an electric - this is often an option on multi fx pedals and I have an acoustic modeller on my amp - sounds OK.

Maybe that way round would be easier, especially if you need to do a bit of string bending on the electric guitar part. I use 13`s on my acoustic and find these a bit tough to bend!

I would do the same as wjp. I have a setting on an fx pedal for acoustic.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I probably can make the Icon sound alot more acoustic then the V-Wing electric. I'm not sure if the rp 300a I have has an acoustic simulator (never thought about it until recently). I'll check it out. thanks for that. It's certainly worth a try.

BOSS do a pedal that simulates an acoustic sound on electric.
Called the BOSS AC-3 Acoustic Simulator.
Shown/explained here: BOSS

Might help!

Or cheaper option would be the Korg Toneworks AX10G. I'm getting it.

That one looks pretty nice. My rp300a has some effects and functions i like, but not all. I need to really give it a go again though because I've been staying away from this kind of stuff on purpose. When I first got it i messed with it, but i got to the point where i was thinking what good is tone if I can't play? Since then I just put on the clean channel and practiced. Now that i can actually play some stuff pretty well it's time to get back into it so i'm pretty much learning from scratch. I know from the RP and my Peavey I like phaser and flanger, but all the rest of the stuff and how different brand pedals shape things differently and the best line setups i don't have a clue about.Gonna be fun figuring it all out though.

Check out the Digitech forums on their website. Lots of little grommets in there begging for and posting patches for metal stuff, but you'll also find some clean stuff. There might be an acoustic sim patch in there somewhere. I think the patches are interchangeable across pretty much the whole line, so you can check all the forums (RP-50, RP-80, RP-150, etc.) I dug a few usable patches for my RP-80 out of there back when I was using it.

Got the acoustic patch (acoustic-30). That's a great effect. One of the better ones on my box now. Thanks Stratrat!
