I have what sounds to me like a dumb question, but hey if ya don't ask how will ya know right? I have been reading some about truss rods and their purpose on a guitar. How can I tell if my guitar has one or not?

Look in the soundhole into the body of the guitar below where the neck joins the body there should be a nut which can be turned with an Allen key, if theres nothing there you don't have a truss rod, nylon strung guitars usually have a brace rather than a truss rod because tension isn't as strong as for steel string or electric guitars . If you have a truss rod do not attempt to adjust it without getting advice first. Hope this helps.

Yes, thanks very much for your help. Looks like in fact it does have one. Yeah I have read that they can be very difficult to adjust without knowing what you are doing. It also seems that they are good to have in case the neck does ever need an adjustment.

Problems with truss rods usually happen with older guitars. Relatively new guitars adjust quite well if you follow UGBs thread instructions.
