Pacifica pick ups

Hello all,
I purchased a yamaha pacifica 112L second hand as my first guitar and unfortunately didnt get a users guide with it.
Does anyone know where i can download one from (looked on Yamaha website) or alternatively tell me what the five pick up postions are, the sound difference between etc etc.
Thanks very much

Hi,

The Pacifica was my first guitar. It has a Single Single Humbucker (SSH) setup. The five way switch has the following settings, with the switch pointing towards the neck.
1. neck
2 neck and middle
3 middle
4 middle and humbucker
5 humbucker.

I might have my owners manual somewhere, I'll have to look. It wasn't a 112L just a 112 or 110. The manual doesn't have much but a parts list and a wiring diagram. I'll send you a PM if I find it.

Michael

As far as the sound difference goes, the bridge (or humbucker pick up). gives a more trebly (if that's a word) sound, supposedly better for lead playing. The bridge pick up has a fatter sound (better for rythm playing. The others are obviously somewhere in between. I have also heard that the two single coil pick ups are out of phase and when played together have a humbucking effect. How much truth there is in that I'm sure someone will either confirm or refute.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
