Home made effects pedals ..

Anyone onboard making or has made their own effect pedals, stompboxes or such?

I'm thinking of buying a kit for a compressor pedal. Looking for some serious sustain, ala Mcguinn, Harrison, etc. I really want a Jangle Box but those are big bucks. I've got a Milkbox that someone gave me but it's awfully noisey.

Just wondering about the difficulty of a DIY pedal; tips, tricks and general thoughts.

allthumbs, I followed your links and found this picture of the Atom Amp. The tube amp in it looks exactly like the reverb amp I'm fiddling with. Same tube configuration and chassis layout. I found the schematic for my amp on the web and it's not really suitable for a guitar amp as it is. I need to gut the circuit except probably the power section and use another amp design.

That's too bad fly. At least you got to salvage something out of it.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
