Kingston Amp?
I got ahold of a Kingston amp. It dont sound bad at all. Can anyone provide any info on this. Its model #IC-281TR, got 2-6 1/2 speakers,a black cloth speaker cover with purple sparkles in it. Looks kinda old, but in great shape.I searched the net w/no luck.

I tried to look it up in my Tube amp book. Nothing there. The only Kingston I came up with on the net in a search was a Chicago Blues Box amp. The model is the Kingston. It's a 12" combo and has a purple cover. It's relatively new.
I have one more source that I'll dig into but may not have any info until late tonight or tomorrow.
If it sounds good, that's cool!! Is it a tube amp , or solid state? Does the speaker look in decent condition? Or, does it look and feel dried out around the surround (the part that attaches the paper cone to the frame)
I'll update anything I find as soon as I can.

Geo,
Sorry, I checked my other books and schematics and info and cannot find a thing.
But if it sounds good, just go with it.

Found this at http://www.vintageguitar.com/brands/details.asp?ID=127
Not much but it's something:
"There were also Kingston amplifiers, all typical of late-’60s Japanese solidstate amps; small and lightweight, with top-mounted controls. Some, at least, were covered in black tolex with black-and-silver grillcloths, metal Kingston logo and vinyl strap handle. These were built specifically for Westheimer by a small electronics factory in Japan."
Sorry, but that's all I could find really!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
