rattly

my old guitar rattles. i took off the top two strings and tuned it down to a bass, but it rattles so much you cant hear it.

Rattles as in loose objects inside it or are you talking about string buzz? Is it an acoustic or electric. I would look at the nut or saddle or bridge for the problem depending on the kind of guitar you have.

i think its on the nut. its an acoustic and theres nothing inside.

Ah. You may need a new nut. Not a very expensive deal. A guitar teck should be able to fix that pretty easily.
