using computer as Amp

Hello,

I am new to guitar playing and bought a behringer iAXE393 USB guitar. They allow you to hook to your computer from the guitar through a USB port. They also give you software from Native Instrument to sound like different guitars etc.

So far I have only been able to hear the guitar from hooking up headphones to the guitar. I would like to have the sound come out from the computer speakers.

Any ideas on how to set that up?

Install the drivers on your computer and then plug in the guitar. Most USB devices require the software to be installed before plugging in the device. Otherwise plugging in the device mucks up the installation and makes it more difficult (but not impossible) to get running.

I have tried that but still only the sound from the head phone jack, not the computer speakers. I think it is hooked up right since on the screen it shows volume levels from the guitar when played. Even the out put shows volume levels, just not coming out the speakers.

Make sure the Auxiliary, Line in, Wave, and Midi Synth volumes are not muted or all teh way down. I guessing your software is using either waves or your sound cards midi.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
