Ebay Squire Tele

I've had the urge to get a tele of some sort and I just won this guy on eBay. Bid on a whim at the last second. Beat the other guy out by a penny.

I wasn't really interest in the Squire 51 as the bridge HB doesn't do anything for me. However I may get the router out and stick a HB on the neck of this guy.

Cool guitar.

That place sells good pickups fairly cheap. You may want to look into buying one for the bridge of the guitar if that one does nothin' for ya. =)

This is the guy I'd really like to have, but I'm trying to keep it under control.

Congrats, Fly - that's not a bad price for that git. I have a honey blonde Squier Tele, and it's actually not a half-bad guitar. The pup selector switch is a little cheesy, but works fine nonetheless. Enjoy it!

Well, it's no secret I'm fond of red guitars but I will say, that Cream color looks pretty nice, fly!

As they say down South, good on ya!

I've heard that they are fairly good guitars for the price. Sounds like the quality can vary a bit on them, but I think they have a tele type sound based off of this guys review and videos playing through a Vox AD50VT.

Les, I'm more partial to the red as well, but there's always spray paint. I'd much prefer Stratrats Honey Blonde to the Cream. Isn't that what Ralphie had in Crossroads?

I didn't notice until after I got it that It's an Affinity, not the standard Squire. Oh Well, still $60 cheaper than brand new.

eXp, I've checked out GFS pups before. I wonder how these babies would sound in the neck...

http://store.guitarfetish.com/gfsprlihupic.html

It's hard to really know up front what you're getting with pups. I wish they had sound bites.

Dawn, buying this cheapy should placate my need for a real tele for a while.

Ginny doesn't know so I'm thinking about wrapping it up and putting under the tree with a tag to me from her. That should get her scratching her head.
