Which pickups to buy

Hey all back again.. needing a little bit of help.

Well I play progressive rock, metalish type stuff and some blues. Most of the time in drop D tuning sometimes to drop c. I have an ESP ex-50.

Anyways I want some new pickups for the guitar and i'm not sure which ones would be the best buy (price and playability). I'm thinking about either the Active EMG 81-85 set or just buying the Zakk Wylde EMG set even though it's recommended for les pauls.

Any advice anyone? I'm trying to keep it under 200 or so..

For that style id definetly recomend the emg 81/85 combo. This is precisely what the zakk wylde set is, plus it comes with pots and wiring. So the zakk set is the way to go, you could find them on ebay brand new for about $159 for the kit.

So the ZW set is the exact same thing as the 81-85 combo right? I'm thinking i'll get them and if i'm not satisfied i'll always just upgrade to something better. Most of the guitarists I listen to use the 81-85 combo anyways.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
