Annoying fret buzz when sliding

Hello folks,
I just bought a new six string acoustic, and when I do a slide, most notably from the 2-4th fret on the g string, I get a nasty buzzing sound. Nothing smooth and fluid about it and my playing is only partly to blame.

Does this mean the guitar needs to be adjusted? The truss rod perhaps? The guitar techs in the shop I bought it from told me to play it for a while then they would do a free set up. I would like to be able to get an opinion about what they should do.

Any help is much appreciated!

Myself - I'd get the free setup done asap, then if it still buzzes you are on the way to getting it sorted quickly.

Just tried it with mine. I can't get the buzz unless I really push down on the slide. Of course, I am playing with 13s so they pull the strings up nicely without having to have my guitar set up .

Thanks for the tips. I think the free set up is the way to go. Maybe lighter finger touches on the slide too.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
