Angry Squier Strat Problem

I always seem to have trouble with this guitar! It is exasperating. The first one I bought, the neck was warped and as it was under warranty they gave me a replacement guitar'cause it couldn't be fixed. Now, the one I have seems to have a lot of fret buzz. To my untrained eye it seems that the neck is bowed in (i.e. down instead of up). Should I chance adjusting the truss rod, and if so which direction should I use the Allan key, clockwise or c.c.? Or should I try adjusting the screws at the bridge? I also want to change to light strings and wonder if I should do so before or after I try the adjustments? Also I cannot attache the tremolo bar from the first Strat, and I thought they should be interchangeable?

Any comments/feedback would really be appreciated. Also, has anyone else had probs with a Squier Strat? I know it is a cheaper brand of Fender but I do wonder about it's reliability.

A fruend of mine had a squire and also had nothing but trouble with it. I do not recomend them. As for adjusting the truss rod, ONLY if you know what your doing. THeir are some internet rescources for this. It has also been discused on these forums (i believe in the guitar hardware section).

Squires are really hit and miss, mostly miss. The only way to really buy one is to go to a store and check each one out and play them. You would be best served taking it in to be set up. Sounds like there could be a combination of things that need to be tweeked.

Squire51s maybe what your thinking of,but you still have to know how to pick the right one. A friend of mine just picked one up in a pawn shop for 126 U,S. he is going to have to do some work on it to get it up to his playing standards ,but he thinks it a good deal for the money.

As far as fretbuzz... yeah, you could see if a guitar shop can help you on that.

When it comes to Squier, they are very cheaply made. I'm not sure why Fender actually accepts credit for them...

Guitar: 1) Behringer Stratocaster; Webstrings Memphis Electric Xlight strings; Dunlop Picks

2) Ibanez TCY-10 Talman Series; Elixir Light strings.

Before you mess with the truss rod, go to the Squier Internet support site:
www.squierguitars.com/support
and look at/download the .pdf file for the owners manual for your Strat. It gives a detailed explanation of truss rod adjustment and how to measure string height, etc.
