I live on the other side of the world Tommy, so I'm not much use to you, but many guitar repair shops nowadays have web sites. May I suggest you have a look for some shops in your area online (google?) and they may also advertise a phone number that you could call them on for making enquiries.

I'm not sure if there are any other members that are from Houston Tx, but if there are I hope for your benefit they may be able to suggest a good repair shop for ya.

I guess some stuff needed known is:

What kind of amp? Fender, Kustom, Peavey, etc.
Is it under warranty?
What kind of problem are you having?

I would look in the Yellow pages for a music store that featured whatever kind of amp you have and check with them to see if they are an authorized service station. I would prefer an authorized place as they can usually get parts if they don't have them in stock.

If it's under warranty, it would have to go to an authorized place to get it covered by the warranty. If not, well, I'd still prefer the authorized service station. That way, if it isn't fixed right, you can go straight to the manufacturer and they can assist in getting it done right.

The main question! What's it doing or not doing?

it could be something simple, like a tube starting to die. Perhaps a blown fuse (of course, then you'd need to ask, why did it blow?)
Is no sound coming out of it? distorted sound? weak sound?

If it is a boutique amp, or just a not-well-known amp, ask other musicians that you may know, where they take their gear for repairs. Or, look up the company web site and see if they have a listing of retailers near you. Then call them and see if they do repair work.

Hope that helps.

PROCESS CONTROL OUTLET
5517 EAST ROAD
BAYTOWN TX 77521

I went on line to Peavey.com and this was listed as a Authorized Service Station. I have personally talked with som eo fthe folks at Peavey (I was in Meridian, Mississipi back in 2000 and met Hartley Peavey, the founder. Nice guy....but I digress!)

Anyway, My understanding and experience is that the service stations need to maintain a certain standard to keep that status. I would feel safe taking it to these guys. Peavey knows that keeping their name in good standing comes from good support and from my experiences over the years , they do a good job of that.

Give them a call and talk to them.
