Question about Lindo Flameout Guitar

Hi there,

I'm a clueless beginner and may have a flameout guitar made by Lindo Ltd. I was wondering if anyone has heard of them and if they can advise whether they are suitable for beginners?

Many thanks

I have never heard of them. They seem to be a very small low end company limited to the U.K. My biggest concern would be the fret markers on the neck with all the inlay on each fret. It could be confusing. You will probably want to upgrade the hardware after a year or so. Better pickups, tuners, nut etc. Make sure the fret wire is not sticking out over the edge of the neck, Feeling the wire ends digging into your hand can really slow you down. Try to play one before you buy. Staggs are also an option in low end guitars in the U.K. You should be able to find reviews on them. They have been around for a long time.

Thank you so much, thats really good feedback and interesting. I'll checkout Stagg and see what sort of guitars they have too offer.

Many thanks again!

Hi there,

I decided against the Lindo guitar and wanted to ask your advice on some Ibanez guitars I've been looking at, I hope you don't mind?!

The three I am eyeing up are the GRG170DX, GSA60 and the SA120, do you know anything about any of them? I have been looking at reviews and they are very mixed. I can't play anything so far, but am looking to be learning GnR style riffs really.

If you can offer any advice I would really appreciate it.

I haven't played an Ibanez so just read reviews. They seem about the same quality. For GNR you would want the one sounding most like an LP. The GRG seems to get the nod for that a touch more than the other two. Depending on what else you want to play, the 24 fret neck isn't a bad thing to have either. It sounds like you need a reasonably flexable amp to dial in the tones you want though so that would be a factor. It seems that a good setup will be needed when you get one from what I have read. So in order of preference it is exactly as you have listed. The last one has some concerns about weak pickups so that puts it at the bottom of the list for me.
Hope some of the members ere can help you more than I. Good luck.

Thanks for your feedback much appreciated, I have a Marshall 15WDFX amp do you think that would be suitable? I'll hang on to see if any replies who has one.
