Dreadnoughts

I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what it means when a guitars model is labeled as a Dreadnought?
Thanks,
William

I think it's just the standard steel string acoustic shape, like a Martin.

This is for you William ... I don't know if you've this version of mine yet, I was testing out a new mic:

Thats pretty neat Kirk. Willin' has always given me trouble, mainly that second chord which I can never figure out.
On another note, if you don't already know about it you might want to check out http://dmci.com/lowell/lowell.html You can download dozens of live performances with Lowell. Also there are a few unrecorded and rare tracks, my favorite being Bag of Reds, set to the tune Duke of Earl. I think i read that the band did not allow recordings at live performances during Lowells time so they are almost all bootleg and the quality of some are better than others, but it's worth checking out.

Also, ever think about a weekly lesson on Willin, or even better...Trouble

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
