PRS Custom 24 vs Custom 22

'ello there. New to board.

Anyway, I'm looking into buying an electric. Right now
I'm strongly considering the PRS Custom 24; but, the
thing is, it comes with a Tremolo bridge, and I don't really
like those (bad past experience)

The Custom 22, however, can come with either a Stoptail
or a Tremolo. That's nice and everything, but I would really
like the 24 frets from the Custom 24. Anybody have any
opinions on what I should get?

I'm not an expert in anyway, so this may all sound silly, but
how does the PRS Tremolo compare with a Floyd Rose Tremolo?
The only experience I've ever had with a Tremolo was when
I was first starting out. My first guitar had a Floyd Rose Tremolo
bridge. I remember absolutely hating that guitar.

So, my options are: Custom 24 w/ PRS Tremolo, or Custom
22 w/ Stoptail.

Quote:

* 22 fret - PRS Stoptail or Tremolo
* 24 fret - PRS Tremolo
* PRS 14:1 Phase II low mass locking tuners
* Black anodized “20th” truss rod cover
* Option: Gold hardware

Just looking for some advice/opinions Thank ya.

Hi ethic, thanks for joining the forum.

I'm afraid I can't help with your enquiry about the PRS ... I'm pretty clueless when it comes to hardware, but I'm sure somebody here will know about it.

All the best,

If niether is exactly what you want,why limit yourself to those two. It doesn't sound like you will be happy either way you go. From what I have read around the web, people either love floyds or hate them and all floyds are not created equal so there are a ton of opinions on this subject. Your best bet is to ask this a harmony central. They love comparison threads

Hehe. Thanks for the site. I swear, the very first thread I
clicked on ("Pawn Shop Score") had this as a reply:

"thank god it doesnt have a floyd bridge!"

Can't believe how stressful it is buying a new guitar. This is set
to be my first "nice" guitar, so I really don't want to screw it up.
I haven't even touched an electric in the last 4 or 5 years. Really
looking forward to it. Then again, I've also been thinking about
getting another acoustic (something Larrivee). Soooo hard to
decide.

Your best bet is to go to the biggest guitar store you can find and play everything. You have had an electric before so you have a baseline to compare the new guitar to in terms of quality,tone and playability. Good luck.
