looking for drum machine

i'm looking for a drum machine to use when doing duos with a vocalist. i need a unit that can move between at least two different variations of a style on the fly and would be used primarily for jazz and latin jazz styles. i would want to be able to foot tap a count and speed and change from a "A" / "B" timings with a foot pedal as well. I would not use this a lot so i don't want to spend a lot of money. once i have some ideas of makes, i would probably look for used.

How do you end up with 1 million dollars playing jazz? start with 2 million.

Wish I knew, Lori. I'm sure someone here will come up with something though.

I have a Alesis SR16, what a great piece of kit and I am doing exactly what you want by using a dual pedal footswitch. The footswitch will stop start the drums and the B button will add a fill followed by a differnt variation. These things used are very cheap and ebay has loads of them. I use a Boss FS-6 dual foot switch but you can use two singles of any make.

Here is me jamming with the drum machine you should be able to hear the two patterns and the fill that is uses to in between A&B pattern. Apologies for my inexperience on the axe though:

Thanks Krissovo. That's in the right price range. I use backing tracks created using band in the box and loaded into my MP3 player for other things but you can change on the fly or decide to go around again with that. i have multiple examples of that on my web site music page. www.lorispencermusic.com
