im looking to buy my first acoustic/electric guitar and im trying to get help i can get with what i should buy. i only mess around with acoustics so im not looking to spend all that much; i was thinking a 450- 500 dollar max. After looking for awhile ive found the Washburn D10SCEDL Acoustic-Electric Guitar and i was wondering if anyone has had expierence with this guitar; and if not i would like to hear what you think is a good acoustic/electric guitar.

It's a reliable, very solidly built guitar. Personally, I'd opt for the less expensive D10SCE model w/the mahogany sides as opposed to the rosewood. These guitars are so heavily braced that there's minimal difference in the tone of the species of woods.

I have a Washburn D46SCE acoustic/electric that I bought 6 months ago. I have nothing but good things to say about it. It's been a great guitar. I would caution you to be sure to buy from a reputible music store, though. I previously bought a Washburn EA9 that I had to return because the neck was bent and the soundboard was warped. Good luck and happy shopping!!!

I bought the Zager ZAD50CE. It sells for $495 and has a 100% money back guarantee. I love it and the guys at the music store I take lessons from say it is great value. go to zagerguitar.com to check them out.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
