making resonator/need help
After visiting numerous web sites about guitar kits and resonator guitars etc. I still havn't found good instruction on how to make a resonator out of a dreadnaught. I found some converter kits on ebay but I'm not sure they will do the job. They only came with the cone, bridge, cover, sound hole covers, and tailpiece.
Do they need to have a sound box (the wooden ring about 3-1/2" deep with circular wholes cut in it?
Do they need additional blocking?
Will it cover the exist'g sound hole or ...?
Any suggestions?
any tips will be appreciated. I am hoping to set up a resonator for minimal cost exclusively for sliding practice but and I have a spare dread to experiment with.
