my son beat cancer.....

Hey guys,

Wanted to share some good news.
Our son, Zack, has beat cancer. Namely, metastatic osteosarcoma. He was diagnosed in July last year, and went through a 12 month program at St.Jude Children's Research Hospital here in Memphis. He has one last orthoscopic surgery on his right lung in a couple of weeks.

I am delighted to say that Zack beat cancer. He's going to start school on time, walking on 2 normal legs, breathing with 2 normal lungs, and go to live a great life.

Randy

That is wonderful news. One of my nephews is battling leukemia which was discovered in Dec. 04.

Is he being treated through St.Jude?
They have done some amazing things down there.
BTW, Steven Segal's daughter is being treated for leukemia at St.Jude. I've seen him there a couple of times. Did you know that blues music is his real passion? He says acting is just what he does to make a living, but blues is what he loves. My buddy, Neal, backed him on bass for a gig here in town last year.

Nope. It is a hospital near the Quad-Cities in Iowa area.

To bad about his daughter. I had heard the same thing about his blues playing.

You must have been through a lot of stress Randy.
Having a sick child is one of the worst things that can happen to a parent.
I have 3 kids, and kind of understand what you must have been through.
Great news that all is well. I'm very happy for you, your son, and the rest of your family.

Thanks, Lightnin'!

Yeah, we hardly know how to act at this point.
Zack's already out with his buddies. He went swimming at a friend's house yesterday, and is working out with his wrestling team as well. He's growing some hair back, which is good because he starts school with his graduating class in a couple of weeks.

I'll always remember his courage.

Hi randy_mc ... I also have three kids. I touch wood on a regular basis regarding their well-being. I can only imagine what you've been through. What great news for you, though ... what an incredible relief it must be for you and your family.

Kirk

Hey Kirk,

Yeah, it was an incredible experience, one that kinda changed all of us. Zack's odds of surviving were 30%, and he beat the odds big-time. He's going to start school with his graduating class next week, and he's growing hair again. Pretty amazing!
