epi alleykat archtop
bummer. i was ready to drop the hammer on an epi allykat jazz box which is said to have a pretty nice tone for slide as well as jazzy stuff. It is on sale for 299 regular 800+ . Guess What ! Misicians friend doesn't sell to Canadians. Do I feel special. That was going to be my birthday present to self. Too bad, the guys at H.C have bought at least a dozen of them in the last four days with glowing reviews. They say the parts alone are worth more than 299. I bet I am going to find this happens to me a lot living in the banana republic of Canada.

Way to go Allthumbs!
You are special!
Nuthin' better than a bargain.
I once bought a piston engine, only because it was on sale!
I'd rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

U.P.S. damaged my guitar in transit. It has a dent on the face at the bottom edge below the bridge. It looks like it was hit by a 2X4. It is small, about the size of my small fingernail and maybe 1/16 inch deep. The finish is cracked and I can see it falling out soon. They pick it up in a couple of days to check the damage and look at repair costs. I hope I can get it to my guitar guy and have him put on a better finish if thats what it needs. To bad. It was perfect. No flaws anywhere that I could see. I didn't even get a chance to play it since the hit was hard enough to break the top E string and I didn't see the ding till I had the strings off ready to change for heavier strings.

Glad UPS made good on it.
Nothing like a free guitar.
Now you can put your own dings on it guilt-free.
Enjoy.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
