Kindly Help Me ! - Kush
Hi Friends !
I hope everything is great there !
I wanted to request you all, to kindly help me out in selecting a good capo for my Guitar. Actually I've been using the below kind of a capo for my older Guitars :
http://www.music123.com/Gibson-Steel...-i229425.music
but now I'm unable to use this model on the Guitar I practice because it has a fairly thinner Neck and it does'nt hold properly. I would like to have a good capo which would be suitable for thinner necks. Kindly suggest me one from the following page, so that I'll buy online.
http://www.music123.com/Capos-d5041.music
Actually I'm considering the latest G7 Capo - but I'm unsure whether it will suit the thinner neck, and I cant take a risk because its very-very expensive and I've to use all of my current savings for it. Kindly suggest !

Kindest Regards and Care

The Dunlops and Kysers are good, Kush. Some are curved, some flat ... check to see which is appropriate. I also think the Dunlop Deluxe Pro Toggle Capo (halfway down the page) is good. It's like the one you have, but it's adjustable.
I'm pretty annoyed ... I had to buy one at short notice the other day, all I could get was a Kyser type ... 50 freaking Australian dollars!!! I was robbed.

Hi Captain Kirk !
I hope everything is great there ! How's my Sister Clancy ?
Me and Priya are doing well here, thanks to your blessings and wishes ! (Thanks to everyone in our Forum too)
Thankyou so much for caring and for the reply
I just have a request for you (sorry if I'm bothering), Sir, I've posted a video of my playing of "Tears In Heaven" 2-3 days back. I request you to kindly have a look whenever you find time and comment on it.
Sorry for going off-topic here, but I really want to say that everytime you see my performance and comment on it, it greatly increases my confidence and the "Desire" to do well. Your encouraging and kind words have really been the fuel that makes me strive harder to improve and play better. I take your words as blessings and really speaking from the heart they really work like blessings for me. Everytime I see that you've commented on my Playing, it just makes me sooo happy and Charged-Up.
Sorry if I've bored you with the above emotions,Sir, but I really mean everyword of it.
Kindly give my regards and Care to my Sister - Clancy and please accept the same.
Kindest Regards and Lots of Care
Kush

Monterey are making an imitation Dunlop trigger capo now that is about $18 AUS.
I have a Kyser that was included when I purchased my Maton, didn't realise they cost so much!

I use a Shubb and I really like it, but the other night was told for sessions I needed the Keyser...something about feedback and quicker change..... I find the Keyser harder to take on and off tho...
The Shubb cost me $14.00 USD and the Keyser $21.00 USD

I prefer the Shubb capo. I have used many over the years, but I find the shubb easy to use and it doesn't mess up my tuning.

Shubb all the way!
I'll go along with RB. I have a shubb for my strat, for my dean and just purchased one for the Ovation. (yeh, I know...why the electrics and you just NOW got one for the acoustic? I was using an old hamilton. Started working on Fire & Rain and wanted a new capo. Got it yesterday)
Now, understand that unless you are incredibly nimble of hand, the Shubb takes both hands to put on. (Maybe that's just me? ) But the Kyser's are a one hand operation.
But I've had the Shubbs for a long time and never had a problem.
So, there's my 23 cents worth. Good luck
Andy S.

Some will, but it really depends on a number of factors. If you are recording with a capo it is always good to retune the guitar after the capo is on.

Kush:
I have always been verry happy with my SHUBB capo--and the new model is even easier to use than the one I have--I have guitars with several different shaped neckis including an accoustic 12 and a small (3/4) size electric and the Shubb works nicely on all of them and doesn't mar the finish either--- hope you find the advise usefull-- s I paid about $11.99 US for mine. The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
