wat pedal to buy?

watsup eveybody! im looking for a distortion pedal. i looking for something that would give me a heavy sound for heavier riffs, but at the same time a really good full, sound for lead. lol srry if im being vague. but something not too expensive mayb like in the 60 range? im playing the ibanez strater pack and the overdrive which i get from a od button is pretty bad. so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions

i was thinking about this one, i heard a lot of good things about it and it got good reviews from harmony central.

to be honest, after hearing the samples, it sounds a bit weak, but mayb thru my amp it would sound different

this one sounded great

also would guitar center mind if i bring my amp and guitar over there to try the pedals?
thx

the boss MT-2 is the industry standard, I think I owned one once. I use a Digitech GNX3000 effects processor as I do a lot of recording to PC with it an it is awesome.

I would recommend to you the Boss MT-2 also you may wanna just try the DS1 and the Death Metal.....see what works for you.

I have never taken my amp and guitar to Guitar center...when I was last in guitar center they have booths set up where you can try out stompboxes with headphones...if i was you just take yourself to GC and check them out......GC is so mobbed you do not want to be babysitting your gear as well.........

go check the pedals out

Marshall makes a mean distortion pedal... It's called the "Jack Hammer", check it out as well.

The pedal is only part of the equation. I am guessing you are using a small amp that came with the pack. A bigger amp will move more air, giving you that sound.

Scotty you are correct... Getting a good amp is fundemental... If you can get a tube amp but with a budget of 60 bucks you wont get one (i think) you might want to save up and buy a good solidstate amp.

Or you could buy a unit such as te Tonelab SE wich models a ange of amps ad FX boxes very closely. you can then play through the PA system and it sounds brilliant.
it is about $400 though...

You can get the Epi Valve Jr combo for a hundred bucks or so. Best bang for the buck at the moment.

The Behringer amps are very cheap with lots of features, and they sound OK for the money as well.

I am all for Behringer they make good quality stuuf at a fraction of the price... be carefull of the models that have built in FX... I had a bad experience with a Blue Devil or someting to that effect... The FX unit kept on packing up... eventually sold it off. All the rest of the Behringer products I have seen I would endorse easily.

The music shop over here had a 15 watt tube amp from Behringer which had a brilliant sound. Not any FX though, just clean and Distortion...

The Blue Devils were pulled off the market because they were garbage ( straight from the horse's mouth so to speak at the Australian music trade show I attended).
The new range seems pretty good. The shop I work for carries them, we have sold quite a few and had no problems so far. For a solid state amp they sound pretty good, and some feature speaker-voicings so you can switch from a Fender to a Marshall to a Mesa modelled response.

Ahh now I know about th edevil as awell... Thanks Now i Know it wasnot just mine that was crap...

What i like about the behringers is the fact that they are cheap and they generally have the good features that the big brand names has... They just copied it and made it cheaper.

They are cheap and offer a lot of features. For their price they are a good option.
They have copied the other brands, but I think there is a big difference in quality between a Behiringer and Mackie desk for instance - though they may appear to be the same.
