I have an Epiphone Dot "335 clone" and I think it's a very nice guitar. It's not that old but I can't imagine it falling apart if you took good care of it.

All the reviews for the various epi lp customs are about the same. Here the Black Beauty review. I know people who have those and they are happy with them. Most of them have upgraded the pups to make it even better.

i have a epi les paul custom and its a decent rig def change the pups out.the bad thing about epi is they lose value as soon as you buy it kinda like a mobile home i guess.youll pay 6 then when ya take it for a trade if ya ever do you might get 3 for it.but other than that its a decent axe.good luck

and if ya play metal then theres way better axes out there for 6.but metal is right be sure you know what your getting for the style of music your gonna play and what fits for you.and epi is a decent brand always within the top 8 from what i see but dont think of it as a gibson les paul thats a completely different setup.
