When I first got my Dean, the bridge pup was a bit ...thin sounding. Lower volume, too. I was looking at replacing it, so I opened up the back covers to see what kind of wiring was there. I noted a really bad , cold solder joint at the toggle switch. The wiring for the bridge pup was barely holding onto the connection by 1 strand of the wire. I resoldered it and Bang! Back to nice hot volume with sweet tone! Love those simple fixes that don't cost anything.
So, you may want to check the switch connections, and , like USGold said, the pots, to make sure the connections are clean & solid. If they look suspect, and this is a new axe, take it back to the store & let them repair it, rather than void any warranty you may have.
Now, if it keeps working normally, like you just posted, well, it may just have been a spec of dirt on the arm of the pot.
Like the old adage goes, (at least for us service reps) if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
