Ist guitar
Hello,
After months of nagging from my 11-year-old son, I just bought him his 1st guitar. I bought him the cheapest of cheap (in case it ends up being another toy) ¾ size acoustic guitar. Now please bear in mind I know more about under water slug juggling than guitars so my questions may seem stupid. When I opened the guitar it was strung with 3 steel strings and 3 nylon. The steel being the thinker ones. Is this normal? Will I still be able to get it in tune with different types of strings? Which type are the best?
I appreciate I’m not going to get much for the price I paid but a little knowledge will help.
Thanks in advance,
Me…

Hi me.
All is well, the Universe is unfolding as it should ... the three bass strings on nylon string guitars are, in fact, nylon strands wound with steel wire.

lol!
and I have no clue about nylon string guitars... the guitar came in a box? cause you said "when I opened the guitar" so that gave me the impression that it came in a box... weird... but you get what you pay for, most of the time.
Life is like a box of chocolates, it\'s good but it ends quick, especially if you\'re fat! :)

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
