what about estaban's gift of guitar

Estaban's offer of gift of guitar for 99.00 on television says this is a great guitar. Is it? Would it be a good guitar for a begginer?
Any experience with the guitar or ordering it?
I wanted to get one for my daughter.
Thanks for any info!

Although I have purchased items on hsn and msnbc, I don't think I would buy a guitar from them. I have seen Esteban's offer several times, and for the money...it seems like a good deal What they don't tell you is what kind of wood the guitar is made from. What kind of tuners are on the neck, etc. Is top a solid piece of spruce or a laminated veneer. My guess is that Esteban can make anything sound good on that guitar...but it would sound like you know what in yours and my hands. Do yourself and your daughter a favor and checkout the acoustic Dean guitars at www.deanguitars.com. I have a Performer DSE. Top quality for much less than I expected. Look at the performer or artist series. You can get a top quality guitar for around $200.

  Estabans gift guitar

I would like to add there are several links to discussions on the person called Esteban. He may or may not be real. Could be a studio musician named Stephen Paul or not. His guitars are very cheaply made, you do get what you pay for when it comes to guitars. I actually have a couple of his DVD instructional videos given to me by a friend that bought the package and just doesn't take the time to play. The DVD's are are actually very informative for a beginner. They show you how to start playing songs, complete songs, by showing you where to place your fingers on each fret and string. So a beginner can be playing in a few minutes. This alone helps to motivate you to learn more about music and notes, driving the desire level up and makes us more willing to work hard. Of course out ultimate goal is to one day be able to play half as well as Kirk or some of the people that post songs on this site. They don't need that kick start that beginners may derive from Estabans videos. Either way you go, think of it as a learning experience. Good luck on your decision.

See what happens when you revive old posts? This post was originally made two years ago and that user has never been active on the forum since, I guess they just don't care anymore.

Tommy's right about the 'E' word though. da da daaaa. Heck there it goes again.

I guess they just didn't check the date, easily done. There's plenty of useful information in some of the older posts.

Not trying to incur the wrath of the "E" lynch mob, but, those infomercials are on every
where by me... The only thing I would say is this. I would have no problem paying
$99.00 for the guitar he uses in the demo... The one you receive from HSN, I'm sure,
is a far cry from the one he actually plays...!!!

And yes, he did save a bunch of money by switching to Geico...!!! (da da daaaa)... :o)

Wait while I wipe the tears from My eyes---anybody who believes infomercials would have to be crazy or broke. Can't even imagine buying a guitar without playing it first at a shop, caviat emptor.
