Using ASIO Drivers ? Kindly Help !!!

Hi All

As I've mentioned before in the other thread, I've bought the Sound-Blaster Audigy-4 which is supposed to be have a ASIO-2 support.

I dont know whether I've installed the Drivers wrongly, (I installed them without removing the Previous RealTek drivers, is this wrong ?), because I dont see the Word ASIO anywhere in the Recording programs. Is the ASIO driver available seperately in the Driver-CD ? Please help me, I have no Idea on this

The Technical-Specs say :

Quote:
24-bit Analog-to-Digital conversion during recording in 8, 16 or 24-bit at sampling rates of 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48 and 96kHz

Low latency multitrack recording with ASIO2 support
Kindly advice me how do I use the above features to get a noiseless recording. My recording is still the same, with a lot of "Snow", Please-Please Help !!!!

Thanks and Regards
Kush

As I said in the other post, make sure you get all the latest drivers and support software from Creative first and install it, especially the ASIO drivers. That may be all you need to do. If you need to uninstall previous drivers the support site will probably describe that. If there are no specific instructions, rather than actually uninstalling any drivers just yet, try going into the device manager, Sound, video, etc! first and see if the ASIO drivers are listed there. If you find the listing for your on-board Realtek sound, you can disable it using the device option at the bottom of the general tab. Don't make multiple changes, just eliminate things one at a time so that you can reset them if they don't make any difference.

Looks like you have a Creative Audigy driver for WDM installed Kush, that should work. Did you get any help from the Creative support site?

ASIO is embedded into the driver software, you won't be able to access it on it's own...
Rather, use your recording software to get to the ASIO control panel...
Make sure you set it as the default...!!!
It would also be a good idea to disable the on board sound device from your BIOS, just
to eliminate the possibility of a conflict... Also, uninstall any of the Realtek drivers BEFORE
you install Creative's drivers...

Once you have all this set up, go to your control panel and click on Sound and Audio Devices.
Click on the Audio tab and insure that SB Audigy is the default device...
Click on the Voice tab and insure that SB Audigy is the default device there as well...
In the Control panel, again... Look for an icon called AudioHQ... Click on it, and then
click on Device Controls... Select options, and insure that SB Audigy is the default sound
device...

Now, open your SB SURROUND MIXER... Make sure the the Line In slider is at least 3/4
of the way up, and that the little blue speaker at the bottom does NOT have an X next
to it... Adjust the Wave and MIDI Synth to their highest settings...
Lastly, check to make sure you are plugged in to the right port on the card...!!!

Hope this helps Kush...!!!

Cheers
Ben
