Does anyone have something nice to say about...

Fender acoustics???????

It appears from looking at various forums that Fender acoustics are not everyones favourite.

I am the proud owner of a GA45SCE and I think its great so where has this bad vibe come from?

I have a Fender 12 string and love it. I think it sounds great and it is one of the cheaper models. I am just learning to play, so maybe I am not experienced enough to say, but to me it sounds great.

Then who cares what other folks think? Last night I was at a coffee house with the family and some guy was playing away on a $150 guitar. His playing & singing was good. He had a good presence on the stage. The guitar player makes the song not the guitar.

Sorry If I'm being Off-Topic here, but I personaly feel,

If a Guitar Plays Well and Sounds Good to the Player, its the Best-Guitar for him , anyways I've the same thing about Fender Acoustics. (Just my opinion)

Kindest Regards

Kush

With me as soon as I picked her up in my hands it just felt like a part of me, then I tuned her up and played a few numbers and fell in love with it.

Had I the money I would have picked up a Taylor and maybe that would be the one for me but with my limited cash I think I got a very good deal. Stamp a big name on it and it would have been twice the price!

I am not sure where the bad fender acoustic rep came from. I suspect that it stems from one of fenders bad build years like the 72 and 73 strats. You got 1 in thousands that was fantastic and the rest were mediocre at best.

In the hands of an artist even a comon household paintbrush becomes an instrument of great design. The artist makes the instrument.

PS I own a Fender F-65 that my wife bought me 25 years ago. I loved its sound then and I would be lost without it now.

I have a Fender elctric accoustic-sound is good--i don't play it much because I have too many guitars-the set up could use a bit of adjusting but the tone is good and the guitar is very playable-not sure about the bad rep of fender accoustics-but i do recall playing one a few years back-had the tele shaped headstock and I didn't think it was avery good guitar-the one I do have now isn't that style and perhaps that indicated a change in how they were produced. All in all I would say they are about the value you should expect in the price range they cost.

Actually it probably came from people who think the only acoustic guitar is a Martin and in a pinch a Taylor.

  opinions

I've never understood why so many players carry inflexible opinions and submit to a blind brand-loyalty. I've listened (and read) about all the Martin v. Taylor arguments I can stand.

Here's the deal: Fender accoustics may not be the favorite of a lot of players. Including me. But, I have to acknowledge that 1) a lot of very good players Do love them, and play them better than I can ever hope to play mine, and 2) My opinion is utterly unimportant as to someone elses preference.

So, that being said, the complaints i may have had with the brand are pretty remedial. I found the ones i've played in guitar stores to be a bit stiff. nothing that a set-up wouldn't fix. 2) Some of the workmanship seemed lower-end, but well within the price range expectations of the particular guitar. 3) tone is inherantly subjective, especially given my stone ear, but the fender I played was a bit quiet, and the bass strings lacked some clout.

But, i have no doubt that even the fender i played may be the perfect choice for somebody.

Never tried or heard one but I like the look of the Strat headstock on the California Series.
