well rite now i have a small practise amp with an overdrive button. a lot of the songs i play switch from clean to distorted and its a pain to stop playing to press a little button to turn my distortion on or off. i've been thinking about getting pedals or a new amp(i could use a better one) with some effects. But theres huge selection of pedals, hendrix has a pedal, zakk wylde has a pedal and grunge pedals and all kinds of pedals for metal. i have no idea on what to chose. im wondering if anybody could help me out on the subject of pedals or should i just get a new amp all together.

I have a Boss DS1 Distortion pedal and I consider it a great jumping off point for someone looking for a great, simple distortion. They've been in production for a couple days short of forever, so that should tell you how popular they are.



I've never really seen the need for signature model pedals personally. You should try to get your own sound, not copy someone else's.
