Hey guys. I've decided instead if trying to pick up something new for a single coil sound I'm just going to mod my squier after all. I was looking at Carvin's AP-11 pickups, and they generally get good reviews and seem like they'd be a big step up from the stock squier's. Anyone have any experience or opinions with these? Also, can anyone clarify the difference between normal and reverse wound pups? I've heard the reverse winding cuts down on excess buzz...is that it? Thanks a lot guys!

Carvin pups!! All I know is one of the young guys at our church put one in a Strat Copy along with a real Strat pup he got from a friend. Oh........my........gosh!! as he would say. And I think it was the AP-11. The tone out of it is ....oohhh, let's just say I'm seriously tempted to put one in my American Standard 40th anniversary Strat, that's how much I liked it. Really! Plenty of power, not too dirty, smooth bluesy tones. Roll off the volume and it cleans up real nice. Hmm, talking about it is getting me thinking again.....
Well, before I go spend some more money (I just spent some on a MIDI hookup for the PC) I'd better sign off !!

But I don't think you would be disappointed with it.
