Need help finding Johnny Winter Fender Stratocaster online
So I talked on the phone with this guy that is willing to trade a Johnny Winter edition Fender Stratocaster + gig bag + amp that he bought at Sam Ash for ~450.00 in exchange for an updated GPS (which you can get for about 200). I'm probably just going to flip them once I make the trade for a quick buck but does anyone have any info on this strat? Googled and found nothing.

Hm. Johnny is known for his reverse gibson firebird. He may have switched to a strat in later years. I just looked at 6 or so youtube vids. No strat and those vids cover a lot of years.
If it was made by fender, you should be able to find it on a fender site.

Well when I talked to him on the phone he wasn't certain... he bought the stuff for his daughter but she only wants to play acoustic. Are there any other Fender Strats that might have an edition with a name that sounds close to Johnny Winter?

After doing a little snooping on fender's site I found this (Muddy Waters Telecaster)
Buy Fender Artist Series Muddy Waters Telecaster Electric Guitar online
price seems a little high, so either this isn't it or the man knows how to haggle

I've got every album Johnny Winter made and seen him live 4 times and I never saw him with a Stratocaster! The closest he came to one was a Telecaster he played on the '73 Album "Still alive and well". He has played a Firebird, an Explorer , a LesPaul , Laser, Telecaster, a National Steele.
I don't think Fender ever made anything signature Johnny Winter! If you find it , let me know and I'll stand corrected!

I also don't think fender has done a Johnny Winter signature copy Agent, the cheapest signature copy as far as I know is around the $600 mark so the guy got a good deal if he got one for that price, Sam Ash might have had a special to off load one but that's a good reduction, looks like a good deal at face value but probably worth finding out what it really is and checking it out if possible.
Here's a link to most of Johnny Winter's guitars and it's great just to hear his name mentioned he's brilliant.
