Hello,

I have a Yamaha C40 acoustic guitar with nylon strings (a really cheap one, around 120 Euros). Well, I just noticed that when I pick a string, other strings seem to start vibrating too(slightly), thus disturbing the sound. This is most notable when I play the A or the e string. When I pick the string and immediately mute it, you can clearly hear other strings' sounds. When I mute them, it's gone.
Is this a guitar quality issue? Because I thought any string would ideally vibrate completely independently from the others.

That is expected. There probably nothing wrong with the guitar. You will typically being muting the unplayed strings with either fretting or picking hand.

If the others strings didn't vibrate on an acoustic then you would have a very dead sounding guitar.
