Fakes - Really sad to see this

I stumbled across this website today. Chinese selling fake Gibsons, Fenders and Ibanez guitars. Sure wish there was someway to stop this kind of stuff. I have already forwarded this to Gibson, Fender and Ibanez. Hope they do something.

The best thing for us to do is buy through trusted, reputable dealers who are knowledgeable enough to avoid the fakes.

I hope they don't try and sell them on ebay,

Many fakes end up on ebay for sale as originals, from greedy

untrustworthy sellers, always go for a seller with a long and good

feedback. Buyer beware

It doesn't look like that link works. Maybe they already took it down?

Hopefully that links been taken out, there are sellers on ebay pedalling fakes as well as sellers pedalling incredibly dodgy import guitars from China, it's worth learning how to spot a fake but it is getting harder, especially if you're buying online, ebay doesn't tolerate fake guitars but some do slip through the net, if the seller is reported the guitar is removed.
That said not all guitars from China are bad I just got a nice Bass for my Daughter from a reliable seller I know in the UK and it's a very well made guitar, he warned me off the cheap ones from China as he knows a fair bit about guitar making over there, some of the Factories in China are producing reasonable guitars but some are not that's the way of the World I suppose.
Some of the Companies you mentioned Shomie actually make their budget guitars in China.

I have seen "Genuine Gibson" and Fender labels for sale on Fleabay. I knew a guy who ordered 4 heavily inlay-ed guitars from China. A couple of months later, they curled up like autumn leaves,

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
