Curses...The saddle broke!

How annoying is this? The stupidly cheap but necessary bit of plastic - aka the saddle, decided to break between the B & E strings. But only after I finished restringing, tuning up and playing for an hour.
I put down the guitar, took the dog for a walk and came back to find that the little end piece that broke off went "ptwang" across the room.

So, more seriously, are bone saddles worth the extra cost?

Extra cost? In North West London you can buy bone saddle blanks for acoustic guitars for two quid. Go on. Treat yourself. Buy 2 (because you will file the first one too low)

Bone saddles conduct the vibration of the strings to the body more efficiently. Go for it.

Bone is cheap and works better. Go for the bone.

Thanks BSA

I never knew there was such a variety of bits and pieces out there. I mean Jellifish Hotrods - Titanium alloy guitar bridge pins for acoustic with steel strings - Blue "Sinatra"

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
