Multieffect RP250 video

I've been looking at the RP250 for a while and I found this video on youtube showing it off. I thought I'd share it with you:

YouTube - digitech rp250 test

I love the settings on the first minute of the video. I'm not that good at multieffect boxes since I've never owned one myself but that sounds really good to me for the price.

Resurrecting an oldish thread here, but I've started looking at the Digitech RP series multi FX, mainly for the drum machine sounds which are pretty good. Anyone own one of these?

How do they compare to their rivals? The sounds on their website are much better than the Boss ME-20, but mainly the drums are cool.

Noodling. It has nothing to do with catching fish. It's got to do with fish catching you.

Hi, I've got an RP350. The drum sounds are good, but limited. I use it primarily to turn my guitar into a bass, or when I need a wah wah pedal. The attched recording was done entirely with the 350 and Audacity,(I think). I spilled a bottle of liquid, I'm not saying it was beer, but I'm not denying it either, into the unit and after a day or two of rehab it worked perfectly again! Tough little buggers!

Excellent! Thanks for posting that.

Man, you really nailed your bends there. Good work!

Expression pedal seems to work quite well. As good as some dedicated wahs I've heard.

I'm looking at the following items:
1. Reverb, especially spring-sounding
2. Drum machine to practice with, especially swing rhythm (think Don't Be Cruel)
3. Vox "Brown Sound"
4. Squealy 80's metal sound.

Definitely got the 80's guitar-god tone reminiscent of Satch and Vai.

I've got a Zoom drum machine which has loads of good presets, and records well. I hate doing the drum bits, and often just play a preset throughout the song and play the pads to add accents, not always successfully I may add!
the first thing I recorded on a computer
has the RP350 as well as samples. This was before I got my Toneport KB37 which has more amp sounds than you can shake the proverbial stick at..

That's perfect music for a video game. Did you ever play Jet Set Radio Future?

Anyhow, that's an impressive mix, especially for a first attempt, and cool playing. The unit obviously suits you to a T.

I'm thinking RP 150. They're on special for A$209, or A$289 for the RP250. Would this be overdoing it if I own a Pocket Pod already?

Hi, sorry I didn't reply earlier. I've looked at all the RP250 stuff on YouTube. It looks fine, but if you can possibly afford it, go for the 350. The thing I don't like about the RP350 is that you can't set up your next preset, you have to either scroll through or program to new patches. I had a Zoom many years ago which allowed you to set up your next patch while playing, and then instantly go to it with one click. I also don't like Digitech's help forum; very snotty!

That's intruiging. I want to have a look now!

I was thinking about your playing while I was at work today. You're an awesome guitarist.

I'm hearing mixed reviews of the RP series, so I might just go for a couple of stomboxes, although I will try one out in a shop.
At the moment I only really need reverb, and I have an RC-2 that has drum tracks in it. I just have to spend time learning how to use it. If I go for RP, I'll sell Pocket Pod to help pay for it.

I wonder how they compare for quality of sounds: ME50, RP350 and Ppod? Harmony Central can be confusing.

Thanks for the comment about my playing.
The Digitech is fine, but sometimes it can sound cheesy. Line6 have great tones, which respond as though you were playing through a real amp, listen to the response I get on this song during the first solo;
Time Wounds All Heels
If you don't feel comfortable about the RP250, then try before you buy. I bought the 350 on a a whim, and I'm glad I did as it set me off recording, but apart from the whammy, the wah wah amd the bass sound I can get from my 6-string, I could live without it.
Hope I've helped a little,
Ian
