My Tele knockoff has arrived.

Well it arrived at lunchtime yesterday, that Tele knockoff my son bought me off ebay from Germany, for £30.
It looks like a tele, a tad lighter, the factory setup isnt too bad, the tone very very tele like. OK the colour is a bit camp ( l like it). But the headstock is quite a bit bigger than a tele. And that ALBA logo on the headstock AAARRRRGGGHH! iTS GOT TO COME OFF. Overall I'm really pleased with it.

I bought a similar one from Germany for €46 but in metallic blue and thats nice as well. Your silver one is very glam rock and that makes it very cool!

Nice one Doug, the color's cool and retro, agree about the logo they could do better than that but it's a minor detail, they didn't send the blonde guitar stand

I would love to have a Tele. Specifically a B-Bender or a G-Bender but the American Fender Tele's are too expensive. My absolute dream would be to own a Bill Crook Guitar like Brad Paisley's. I got on the Crook's Guitar website the other day and it has no pricing info only info on how to contact to get pricing. You know what they say if you have to ask........... I know I probably can't afford it. The other day when I went to order my pedal the guy said I could make my own by using a Johnson Tele "replica" basically a knockoff but like the one Doug has it would be real close. All I would have to do is put a string bender on it and paint it like the Brad Paisley style and put Erine Ball strings on it like what he uses and I would be set.

I already own a Johnson Strat which was my first guitar which I still love and use almost daily and I would put the guitar quality and performance right up with others that are more expensive.

Very beautiful guitar Doug. Oh is the brand name ALBA?

Congrats on the new guitar!

You need a Kustom Roll & Tuck amp to go with it.

Now thats what you call Glamrock! I reckon our two glitzy acquisitions belong together.RB I reckon you should ship that little baby to the UK, it looks kinda lonely.

Congrats on the new guitar, Doug. I don't think Buck Owens would have found that color "campy" (he was known to play some beautiful "Sparklecasters").

Fulltone - the Crook Paisley Teles sell for right around $2000-$2500, depending on how you spec them. Absolutely awesome guitars, but just a bit rich for my blood. I'll own one someday, though.

If you want to get a very good Tele without breaking the bank, look into the Fender MIM (Made in Mexico) "Standard" Telecasters.....great value for the price. If you have a little more to spend, the Fender "Highway 1" is very nice. If you want to spend a little less, the Squier Affinity BSB (Butterscotch Blonde) Telecaster is considered as a killer deal and very good guitar even amongst Tele aficionados. If you want a Paisley Tele but don't want to spend the big bucks for a Crook, check out the Jay Turser Paisley Teles. I picked one up and am very pleased with it.....it looks great, was set up pretty well when I received it and plays nice.

That is nice Mac. I didn't see though whether or not you could pick your own color though. If not it would be ok but my personal favorite is the light blue Paisley.

The Tursers only come in red and purple, as far as I've seen. I have the red one.
