Need Strap ORIENTATION

What's the string for??? Hey, guys, I'm new here. I just introduced myself on the "introduce yourself" thingy. The thing is that I have this new guitar strap that has a black string attached to the whole of one end of the strap. I've seen guitar straps that have similar strings, but I've got no clue on how to use it. Please, help me!!! This is taking away my sleep!!!

I think you have a bootlace strap, one end should attach to a button at the bottom of your guitar and the tie goes around the head behind the nut making sure not to get in the way of the strings, hope that's right.otherwise I'm stumped. Welcome to the forum Danniely_90.

Cheers

Chris

That sounds right Sailor. I never trusted string ties. I much prefer having a second strap button added,

I agree allthumbs I always found the bootlace one more stress I didn't need, and I'd be gutted if I broke my guitar as it was a gift from an old friend who was an awesome blues player, he'd probably write a song about me breaking it but I don't think he'd forgive me.

Basically what starsailor said.

I don't trust ties either. When I played blues at my Schoolfest, I was thinking of using ties (but I already had strap guards) just for *THE* look, but I was like nah.

I personally think it looks abit silly and gets in the way abit.
