Wanting an acoustic amp....
I am looking for an acoustic amp to match up with my Martin DC Aura. Right now just playing to myself, but may do small gigs later. Found the Fishman Loudbox and it looks like the best deal going. However, I'm finding that the Loudbox Pro is right at or just slightly above the 100 (within $50-$70) (near new cond) Seems like a no brainer to me. Anyone think the same or have some other suggestions?? Tks, Chris

Hi Chris. I don't know about the Fishman but for more than a year now I have used my Roland 60 acoustic amp in the manner you say you will be using your stuff, with very satisfactory results. It has two channels so you can mic through it along with your guitar. Each channel has individual controls and the amp automatically eliminates feedback. It comes with a case that is about 18 inches square and has a shoulder strap so you can walk into your gig with your guitar case in one hand and the amp slung over your shoulder. Some bells and whistles on the back of the amp gives versatility for add on gizmos.
Probably is comparable to the Fishman but I'm not certain.

My experience with acoustic amps is very limited. I've never tried the Fishman Loudbox, but I've played through a friend's Roland Acoustic Chorus 60 and thought it was absolutely beautiful sounding. Definitely worth giving a try as you're shopping for amps.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
