It'll do for the money. I had a RP300A, which is in the same generation product line. The minuses.... A lot of the presets are useless. Tweaking is all manual. The pluses... Drum machine to practice with. It's cheap.

IMO, two of the most important features of a MultiFX unit is... 1) software configurability, and 2) a display that shows more than a number. If you still can take it back you may want to consider this. Some people might add USB connectivity for recording. Regardless, the RP50 sells new for $50. You can't really go wrong at that price. A rhythm box alone could be worth that to you.

Thanks fly. I saw that it had a drum machine (30 patterns) and reverb (6), so I bought it. I thought the price was cheap. I think I paid $60 for it at Guitar Center in July. I brought it back here and never used it yet, still reading the manual By the way its made in China. "I was surprised".

I have one as well. It's great for recording directly into a PC. Unfortunately, I can't find much use for it going into an amp. The distortion sounds kind of thin and some effects also sound thin. Does well producing some flange though.

So my opinon of it is, great for recording line in, lousy for going into an amp.

It does look a little high in price but not much, they are €29 or about $50 in Europe / States.

As with most moddled processors the presets might sound crap but with tweaking you can soon dial in good tones. A professional band that we share the rehersal studio with the lead guitarist uses a RP50 into the PA or a Marshall 100 DFX and he can make it sing. He also uses the drums for jamming and new ideas and he thinks invaluable. He turned his nose up at my Zoom G7 and Pod 2.

I also have a cheap pedal with built in drums for jamming with at home, its a Korg AX100G. Its old, crap preset tones but I would never part with it as it is very useful to me.

  digitech rp50

I've owned one for a year now and it is okay to get to a general feel of the different sounds it produces. I hook it into my 30 watt spring reverb and it sounds good to me. After playing with the rp50 for a while with experience, I soon realized that I am going purchase a higher end multieffect processor. For now if this makes you happy, the rp50 should suffice. Drum tracks not bad.
