Heads up 51 squire

I just heard a report that Fender is going to discontinue the squire51 line in the second quarter of 06 so anyone thinking of getting one better jump on it soon.

Where did you hear that report from? I wonder if they are gonna come up with a higher end model with the same features. Lots of people have been asking Fender for that. They said they would be willing to pay more for an upgraded model. Now THAT would be cool.

I heard it from some friends on another forum. It will be a shame. People love modding that guitar, even just buying it for parts it is so cheap. A great first guitar for under 150 bucks. I think the sales are gonna fall right off if they do this.

I got one !!!

On clearance for $99.99 at Guitar Center right now! Woot Woot

Thanks for the heads up Allthumbs. I got a Black/White one. It has a fast neck. I made sure the one I took had nicely dressed frets. Awesome for the money. I'm floored by this thing.

You got lucky. A lot of folks have to take a file to the frets to smooth them down a bit. It is a shock how nice they are isn't it. If I was going to get one, I would go for the blond, they look sweet.
There is already an after market for pickguards for them which tells you how popular they are.
