What gauge strings on your electric?

Just wondered what everyone uses. Heres what I've got....

G&L S-500 Strat & STd Tele = 9's
Epi Dot & Schecter C1 & Affinity Tele = 10's
Fullerton Strat = 12's

I've got the Fullerton tuned down 1 semi-tone. It's my learning SRV guitar. The tone on those heavier strings is awesome. I can play it right into my Fender Pro Jr with no pedals and get ear candy. They are tough on the fingers though. Need to build up some strength.

I initially ran 9's because they are easy on the fingers and needed all the help I could get. I'm thinking of moving up to 10's min. The tone change on heavier strings is noticeable.

I run 10's on all my electrics. Boring, I guess.

Along this same topic.......where would you classify the size of strings when putting them in a light-medium-heavy class. I notice the acoustic strings are most often noted as in one of these classes, but not so when looking at the electrics strings.
thanks,
hb

I use 10's on my electrics, would like to go up to 11's on the strat but not sure the neck will hold - it was broken last year. The luthier who did the repair recommended just leaving 9's in it, but they are like playing rubber bands.
I use 12-53 on the Taylor, 13-56 on my Maton acoustic because it is always in Open D or DADGAD, 12-52 on my archtop and 16-58 on my resonator.

My usual are something like "hybrid slinkies," so they're "other." I like a few strings to be on the light side, but not all of 'em.

I have always used EB super slinky's. I keep saying I'm going to get heavier strings (10s) but I dont know if I should do any adjustments to the neck.

Been doing some experimenting with strings on my electric. Don't really care for elixir brand, but have been trying GHS, Ernie balls and D'addario. So far my favorites are the D'addario 10's and GHS Boomer 9's with a slight nod towards the Boomers. Been into alot of string bending and they just seem to give me the best control. They sound great too and seem to stay in tune longer then the others. Don't know if elasticity is the right word, but with deep bends it's almost like there is no tension and they slide smoothly over my fret board. I'll be trying several more brands before i'm done, but unless I find something really outrageous there will always be a set of GHS Boomer 9's in my case.

For acoustic, Martin SP 11's is the only thing that will do. I haven't found anything even close to those. Great tone quality and seem to last forever. Slightly rougher feel but i like that.

All 10's on my Telecasters (including a pair of EB 10-52's on one), 9's on the Strat. Thinking about trying 11's on one of the Teles just to see how they sound/feel.

11's on the strat. I've found that I can tend to have a pretty heavy hand with lighter strings- probably a combo of being more accustomed to playing the acoustic and just plain excitement when jamming. I'll probably try some 12's in the future just to see how they feel- the tone you get from the heavier strings is pretty awesome.

+1, I was astounded when I put the 12's on my Fullerton.
