I couldn't stand it!!!!!

This will be mine. I have it on good authority that this will be the stupid deal of the day on Saturday at Musicians Friend.. 99 bucks for an original floyd speedloader guitar. Part of the fun is deciding what to put in the gaping hole in the headstock. It just has to be tuned once for the first setup and then the strings are always in tune. One of my friends now has 5 of them and other friends have bought them. Nothing but, good reviews though the strings they ship with are worthless.
I probably won't bother with the floyd. I can lock it down and make it a hard tail. I will pull the pups and put in two lipstick humbuckers. I can't think of a cheaper quality platform to throw those pups in. This axe should be selling for at least 400 bucks on the street.

Wow! $99 is cheap enough to actually buy some sets of strings to go with. Glad to see the SDOTD back.

Congrats (in advance)! I'm doing something similar, picked up *three* new project guitars... it's a hobby unto itself, isn't it?

I emailed MF twice about this guitar - wanted to bring 6 across for starters, but they haven't bothered to reply I also pointed out to them that their link to the list of manufacturers whose gear they didn't ship was dead (wasn't a link at all).

I've since discovered Floyd Rose have an agent over here in Australia - but I'd have thought the least MF could have done was to reply.

Anyway - good luck with the project, Marty - sounds like fun!

hey Ian
Most companies like that are bound by an agreement with their suppliers - Fender own FLoyd Rose, and have well-delineated boundaries for trade. Yamaha are the same.

Move fast, they are almost out and I can guarantee that the new models will be in the 400 to 600 range. This was their word of mouth campaign to generate interest in the new releases.
