Another bargooon!!
A good mic preamp for 29 bucks. For all those suffering trying to get volume when they are plugging their mic or guitar directly into their sound card. This is the cheapest answer you will find. They will sell out fast if your thinking of getting one.
BTW, the other speed loader floyd guitar bargain I posted about is starting to come to an end. All my friends who have bought them are raving about them. A 600 dollar guitar for 150 bucks with a speed loader floyd that sells for 250 bucks alone.

Thanks, AT - I just ordered one of those ART preamps. I missed the boat last time MF was offering them for that price, so I figured I'd jump on one this time. At that price it's worth giving it a try!

I have two of them and they work fine. I haven't really noticed that they "warm" up the sound or do anything in particular that you would normally associate with tubes. But as a preamp they do the job, plus provide phantom power if you need it and the input/output gain gives some extra flexibility in tweaking the signal and keeping the noise down. They are definitely not like a tube based pedal for adding crunch to the signal.

Yes you can. If you don't have enough preamp channel on your mixer then one of these would give you one more as long as you have some unused line level inputs.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
