new strings

just restrung my guitar with martin 13s and it don't seem to sound the same plus the e string is buzzing. have i done something wrong as this is the first time i have changed strings.

Sounds like you may have changed from lighter to heavier strings and may need to adjust the truss rod or get lighter strings.

adjusting the truss rod sounds a bit complicated to me.I think i will get some lighter strings thanks for your help

yes i have just put some lighter strings on and it sounds so much better.I won't make that mistake again thanks for asking...Guillermoc

You didn't necessarily make a mistake. Strings are a personal choice that can change over time. I've moved toward heavier strings over time as my fingers and hands have gotten stronger. I like the thicker tone that comes with heavier strings- on an acoustic, you just need to make an adjustment to the neck bow to compensate for the change in tension. Usually, you don't need to do anything else. It's a different story for electrics, though.
