Yum!!

A friend of mine had a tele put together using Warmoth parts to her specs.

hollow swamp ash body with 5a wide flame maple cap
tummy, forearm and heel contours
standard thin, compound radius, hard rock birdseye maple neck with kingwood board
6105 stainless fretwire
glendale non-magnetic bridgeplate and "twang" saddle set (2 brass, 1 aluminum)
reversed callaham controls, three-way switch, heavy knurled domed knobs
fender texas special pickups
gotoh kluson tuners
hybrid strings 9 on the top 10 on the bottom

It plays like butter. Even my friends that usually hate teles love playing this one.

OMG that is stunning! I love the colour and the reversed controls is a great idea.

What sort of price does something like that cost?

The parts alone are in the 2 grand range. The bridge set alone is over a hundred bucks. Nanner has a close friend who put it all together for her and spent a couple of weeks tweaking it to perfection. Probably another grand or so in labour there.

Here are some more pics since your digging it. The birdseye neck is silky smooth. I almost hated to touch it. What a work of art. Go take a look at the Warmoth site. Way cool.

Gawd, that is a beautiful Tele!

I'm glad to see/hear a first-hand account of their bodies/necks, as I've already given into the GAS and have a neck, body and some parts on the way from Warmoth for a "Partscaster" right now! The body is a double-bound ash Tele body - Sonic Blue with cream binding and a white pearl pickguard. Neck is a birdseye maple, "fat" profile with compound radius & 6105 frets. Switchcraft jack with Electrosocket cup. Same tuners as your friend's, and I'm also going to use that same Glendale bridge & saddles. I'm still up in the air about pups, but seriously considering a set from Don Mare. I'm buying the parts piece by piece, and since it's my first build I'm going to take my time assembling and tweaking it. I can only HOPE that it turns out as good as your friend's did!!!
