Oh Oh ... more GAS
We have been doing a lot of camping this year, but we only have a car with a cartop carrier, so there is not a lot of room for "extras". I have managed to squeeze my classical guitar (smallest one I own) on a couple of trips, literally crammed between my legs. So, I'm trying to convince my husband that I "need" a travelling guitar. Afterall, he gets to bring his toys (e.g. nintendo, cell phone with web service, etc.) with him, so I need mind. He argues that his doesn't take up any space.
Anyway, our local music store has a Washburn Rover (R010, I think) which seems to have pretty good reviews. Does anyone have one? If so, are you happy with it. We have 2 more camping trilps this summer, so I hope to be a happy owner of this guitar before then.
It was originally $269 CDN and dropped down to $209. The owner said he would sell it to me for $180. Not a bad deal; however I have bought 6 guitars, 2 amps, a violin and many other items in the past 2 years. That may have something to do with the "deal".
Thanks.

Looks like you've had a lot of GAS in the past two years.

Well, not that this makes it sound a lot better, but 2 guitars and 1 amp were for my daughter; the rest are MINE
I agree skinnybloke that nintendo and campfires just don't go together. I just can't seem to convince DH. I don't know why, but he can't understand why we need more than 7 guitars in the house. Go figure.
Today may be the day as I'll have to change the strings and get it prepped for camping! Can't sound rough at campfire.

I recommend a vehicle large enough to accommodate full sized guitars.

I agree with the new vehicle too, but unfortunately "vans aren't cool". In fact, he wants a corvette....that won't help me at all.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
