Cheap Distortion Pedals?

I have been playing for like 3 days, and I love the sound a distortion pedal puts out,

What is the cheapest brand? I am pretty sucky at guitar right now so I don't want a good one...

I found this one:

electricroom.com.au/product/Danelectro/Bacon+N+Eggs+Guitar+Effects+Pedal

Any others?

If $50 isn't too much I recommend getting a Korg AX3G. It has a range of distortion effects that cover every use. The quality of the effects are very good, and it includes various delay, reverb, modulation, compression, wah, and filter functions. I can provide a few samples if you are interesting in hearing what it sounds like.

The Danelectro "Fab" pedals are actually pretty good, and only cost $15. Cheap investment.

I own this one. It has every effect you can think of, plus a drum machine. You can buy it at most music stores if you don't want to go online. For $60 you can't beat it. I paid a extra $10 and got the one with the pedal (RP-80). The pedal controls the volume in most modes, and tweaks the effects in some of the others.

Buy DigiTech RP50 Modeling Guitar Processor online at Musician's Friend

If you want a cheap distortion pedal that a lot of the best use, get a Boss DS-1. Satriani, Malmsteem etc have used this pedal and it's been rated one of the top 50 pedals of all time. I got mine for under 40 USD new.

I agree completely. They have 3 (the D-1 distortion, D-2 overdrive, and D-3 metal), of which I've owned the first two. If you're looking for something mild to moderate, either the D-1 or D-2 will probably do the trick. The D-1 sounds a bit flatter, the D-2 has a little tube-like peak in the mids. Fantastic deal for $15, either way.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
