Just saying - newb to newb

I finally got over to my friend aka my guitar teachers house today to get the kids Baja retuned (kid likes to fiddle with the tuner keys when I ain't lookin')and I got to play the OLP (telecaster clone)I plan on buying .well actually I will jump around a bit but the afternoon went like this- took the Baja over for a tune up- while she was at it she lowered the action 1/16",what a difference -like night and day for fretting grip.Still ,its a flat neck -still not real ergonomic to my fingers but now maybe my 10 y/o can play it more than 10 minutes til his hand goes crampy. Then the OLP tele clone came out and I liked (loved ,really)the difference of the curved neck -it also has a very low action which was very comfortable .Very good sustain and mellow tone. MUCH easier to fret (barre cords especially) and not get the dead strings. I think with this type of neck and action I partially solved my fat fingered fretting problem. I still need to one finger a barre cord around the 17th fret (no room for 3 digits)but practice will shine that up some in time. She taught me a couple cord formations and a power cord thing. Then she got the Grunge pedal out - oh man was that a blast .Coupled that up with her Crate amp (do not ask me what model )and it felt great -I actually made music .We sat and 1/2 jammed and talked music for close to 4 hours straight. So -I guess my post was to the newbs like me - find a guitar you can work comfortably and don't go by what you think you want or afford. Also, have a teacher you are comfortable with. Rock on and thanks for listening to my rambling.
